So, I was chatting with this big shot corporate exec the other day, and we got to talking about all the buzz around boosting women leadership.
And, naturally, we got to the troubling question: do male execs need to step up their game to avoid getting crushed by the badass women taking over?
Now, I know this question is smeared with gender stereotypes and whatnot, but it's still a legit question, right?
Let's face it, women have had a tougher time getting ahead in the workplace, having been held back for too long by systemic barriers and discrimination.
So, it makes sense to focus on boosting their representation in leadership positions.
That does not mean dudes have to lose out. It's not a zero-sum game!
Everyone can have a seat at the table. Except for Robert, he's not invited.
But hold up, ladies. Let's not get ahead of yourselves. Some feminists and female-led firms are indeed only doing business with other female-led businesses.
And while it's great to support each other, limiting yourself to one gender-led firm means you could be missing out on some serious innovation.
It's like only eating avocado toast for breakfast when there's a whole world of cereal out there.
So, instead of just talking about female leadership, how about spicing things up a bit? Talk about the benefits of having a diverse range of perspectives and experiences in leadership.
Studies show that companies with gender-diverse leadership teams are more financially successful and creative.
So, by pushing for more diversity, we're not just helping lady bosses, we're helping everyone. Except for Robert. He can stay in the break room.
My two-cents
We can change the conversation from a game of gender tug-of-war to a party of collaboration and mutual benefit.
Business partnerships are all about finding the right fit. Whether it's cost-effectiveness, expertise, or some other factor, it's up to each individual business, regardless of gender, to stay competitive and relevant in their industry.
So, let's keep polishing our skills and adapting to the changing market conditions.
Yes, you too can be a badass leader, no matter what's in your pants!
PS: Robert is the toxic guy no one likes. You may know him by another name.
